On January 17, Appleby’s Senior Two Visual Arts classes welcomed sculptor Steve Mazza as a guest artist. Steve’s process is unique in that he uses alternative, non-traditional materials to create his sculptures. He demonstrated ideas that the students could explore for their upcoming RONA sculpture challenge in which they shop for materials at a hardware store and create an assemblage sculpture. In addition to his personal art practice, Steve works as a theatre scenic painter and prop maker for International Alliance of the Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) Local 828.
