Give your child the lifelong returns of a Rotherglen education

Rotherglen is what school should be – a place where staff and parents work together to instill sound values in the students in our care, and to inspire them to recognize and reach their full potential by using their knowledge, abilities and talents, combined with 21st Century learning skills, to enhance their own lives and to participate ethically and responsibly in the global community.

Rotherglen is a co-educational, non-denominational private independent school for students age 3 to Grade 8. With two campuses in Oakville, Rotherglen offers learning environments that foster excellence in education, character and leadership programs, an enriched curriculum, and differentiated teaching and learning experiences designed to engage each student’s unique learning style. Rotherglen is a community of schools strongly rooted in the family morals and values it was founded upon. The grade configurations may vary amongst campuses, but the philosophy of learning, our values and the warm, caring environment remains constant.

Our lower school program (age 3 to Grade 3) is firmly rooted in Montessori principles, while incorporating an enhanced Ontario curriculum. This provides a solid foundation for our Grade 4 -8 program, which transitions into an enriched and progressive style of learning.

Our campuses offer state-of-the-art facilities, highly trained and qualified teachers, warm, nurturing and engaging classrooms, safe and secure playgrounds, specialized classrooms and a multitude of learning materials to support 21st Century instruction.

When we ask our families to describe Rotherglen in one word, the most frequent answer is nurturing. We pride ourselves on being a warm, safe, vibrant and inclusive school community and welcome you to explore our website to learn more about why Rotherglen is, quite simply, what school should be.

The Oakville Elementary Campus is situated on a naturally wooded six-acre property at the corner of Upper Middle Road and Neyagawa Boulevard. It provides a peaceful setting in the heart of North Oakville, backing onto the picturesque Sixteen Mile Creek and Oakville’s Heritage Trail System. The Elementary Campus provides programming for students age 3 to Grade 8. Being primarily an elementary school, positions in the Casa program (ages 3-5) are reserved for students who have siblings enrolled in Grades 1 – 8.

The Oakville Primary Campus, providing programming for students age 3 to Grade 1, was established in 1988 and remains a close-knit school, located in a charming building, fondly referred to as the “yellow school.” For more than 25 years, the Primary Campus has nurtured its students’ intellectual curiosity and exploration, providing a foundation for life-long learning. In addition to Full-Day programs, the Primary Campus offers a Half-Day Plus program with extended hours for both morning and afternoon programs. All half-day students have the opportunity to participate in the popular lunch/recess program.

Of course, there is no substitute for visiting and meeting with administrators, teachers and students. After all, seeing is believing! We warmly welcome you to visit Rotherglen School.

What Our Parents Are Saying

Don’t just take it from us, let our parents do the talking!

As the old saying goes, “It takes a village to raise a child” and we would like to thank the Village of Rotherglen for helping to raise our children.
Grade 5 & Grade 8 Parent

We arrived at Rotherglen as new “Canadians” and the warm welcome and supportive environment was invaluable in helping the boys settle into life here.
Grade 3 & Grade 5 Parent

I still get teary eyed after all these years when I think about the individual attention and support that you provide my children. Rotherglen has provided J with a solid foundation. His confidence and personality grows each day, and I will be one of many, teary proud moms in the audience when he graduates.
Grade 5 & Grade 8 Parent

Rotherglen is a very special community and we feel blessed to be part of it.
