Fascinating Minds Since 1911

At Appleby College our commitment to providing an exceptional education experience is built into everything we do – from our extraordinary curriculum to the unique opportunities we provide to our students. Fascinating minds since 1911, we offer an extraordinary learning environment on a 60-acre lakefront campus that helps foster development by blending academic excellence, athletic achievement and creative expression with opportunities for leadership and community engagement both inside and outside the classroom.

Co-educational by design, Appleby’s 750 students learn from one another in the classroom, during co-curricular activities and by simply sharing the Appleby experience. We encourage students to discover and embrace their passions, whether in the classroom, on the stage, in the gym or on international service projects.

Hallmarks of the Appleby experience include our emphasis on global learning and cultural understanding. Recognized for our commitment to global responsibility and education, Appleby students come from more than 35 countries, creating a unique learning environment that helps foster the sharing of diverse ideas and cultures. In our mandatory Grade 12 boarding programme students learn more about themselves and develop the responsibility and skills to assist with the transition to university, with approximately 95 per cent of Appleby graduates advancing to their first university of choice. We also believe that financial need should not prevent a student from reaching their full potential and provide over $2.8 million in bursaries, loans and scholarships annually, including the merit-based Sir Edmund Walker Scholarship programme, offering up to 10 new incoming students a one-time $10,000 scholarship to be used towards their tuition.

What Our Parents Are Saying

Don’t just take it from us, let our parents do the talking!

We feel the opportunities Appleby provides its students, both inside and outside the classroom, is unmatched. Our motivation in donating to the Appleby fund is to help ensure Appleby’s continued excellence, both for our kids and future generations of students.

McMillan Family (children in M1 and M2)

My parents worked very hard to send me to Appleby-for them it was a very big sacrifice. I will never be able to properly thank them for what they did but maybe I can at least pay it forward by helping future generations by supporting the Appleby fund.

Chuck Havill ’73, C.A.

I give back to Appleby because of what Appleby has given me: an opportunity to teach, not just do classroom management. An chance to learn with students and faculty eager to discover. An opening to experiment with pedagogy, globalism and technology – and then to share it with the world.
