Each spring, Glenburnie School celebrates all aspects of the performing and visual arts at the Festival of the Arts event. Artwork created throughout the year by students across the grade levels, will be displayed gallery-style throughout the Main Lobby and Gymnasium. Visitors to the festival are invited to peruse the gallery prior to the commencement of the musical performances.
This year’s Festival promises to be extra special! Students from Grades 4 to 8, along with the Junior/Intermediate Choir and the Glenburnie Concert Band, will be presenting Beatles’ songs from Yellow Submarine, in addition to acting out short scenes from this popular film.
The Festival of the Arts is a complete celebration of the performing arts, and includes vocal and instrumental performances, acting, dancing, and film work. Students will be involved in all aspects of creating this year’s production, contributing their talents in such diverse areas as sound and lighting engineering, choreography, and both solo and ensemble performances.
This year’s Festival of the Arts will be held at Glenburnie School on Thursday, June 12th. Doors will be opening at 6:15 p.m. and the performances will begin at 7:00 p.m.
