The grade 12 Economics class was able to enjoy a beautiful day in St. Jacob’s once again this year. After a horse drawn tour introducing us to the life of the Old Order Mennonite people, we visited the largest farmers market in North America for some delicious lunch. A short tour at the town museum provided us with even more insight into the history of the Mennonite people. This trip gave us a glimpse of what it would be like to live in a more traditional style economy, using barter and trade and relying on our community rather government services more often than not. It was an eye-opening and enjoyable day!
