On April 5, Appleby hosted over 230 students from schools across the Greater Toronto Area for the Appleby College Model United Nations Conference (ACMUN IX). The event had participants debating topics in 13 mock UN committees and encouraged students to proactively resolve problems taking place around the world. Appleby had 14 delegates participating and a total of 72 students assisting at the conference. Congratulations to Middle One student Md Riaz Mahmud, Upper One student Albi Nani and Senior One student Karam Al-Shelh who won the Outstanding Delegate in African Union, Outstanding Delegate in Crisis Security Council and Honourable Delegate in UN Office on Drugs and Crime respectively. They demonstrated a high level of knowledge on world issues and debated their viewpoints. The conference was a great success due to the hard work of the ACMUN student planning committee led by Senior One student Arthur Kwan Hung Wu, faculty members Thao-Nguyen Nguyen and Sara Kehoe. Congratulations everyone!
