On February 5, Canadian author Joseph Boyden spoke with students from the English department’s extra-credit reading program. In addition to discussing his latest novel, The Orenda, winner of CBC’s Canada Reads in 2014, Mr. Boyden also spoke about his other novels Three Day Road and Through Black Spruce. Students had an opportunity to learn about Mr. Boyden’s writing process as well as ask questions. On February 4, the Appleby community had an opportunity to hear Mr. Boyden give a reading from The Orenda in the John Bell Chapel.
