Over the March Break a group of Appleby students and faculty participated in an international service trip to Morocco. The students primarily worked at Jiahna Primary School outside of Rabat, constructing cement walkways between classroom buildings and re-plastering and painting. Each day, students had Arabic lessons, learning Darija – the Moroccan Arabic dialect, enjoyed traditional Moroccan tea and practiced their new language skills with the local students. During their stay in Morocco, the students got to partake in a variety of cultural experiences. Students also volunteered coaching sports at a centre for street-children through the ANSEP Association.
