The Grade 1 class has been learning about money and different currency used around the world. On Wednesday, February 4th the class went to the TD Bank and the Crack Pot Pottery Studio. At the bank they saw where the vault is and where the offices are located. They also had a chance to ask lots of questions about currency and banking. The class had a really fun time at the bank.
Next we went to the Crack Pot Studio and made piggy banks for our money. The piggy banks are going to be put into a very hot oven called a kiln. It is 200 degrees. The lady at the studio named Emma taught us different painting techniques like scratching and adding dots. At Crack Pot Studio, we got to use lots of different paints and added texture and detail. There were many different things that you can choose to paint and many us would like to go back and paint something different. When we take our piggy banks home they can use them to save money or we can save our money at the bank. The grade 1 class had a very fun time at the bank and at the Pottery Studio.
