MacLachlan’s MACtion crew got to once again be involved in the world wide We Day Concert. All of the students were thrilled for this day to come! We got together with 20,000 educators and youths who share the same passions we have, and celebrate the actions that we have all taken in our local and global communities. On this day, many celebrity performers came to share their time, to talk to students about ways that we can be the change we want to see in the world.
We were lucky to enjoy mini concerts from R5, Hedley, Lights, Karl Wolf, and many more. We also got to experience one of a kind motivational presentations from Ashley Rose Murphy, Mustafa (the poet), Chris Hadfield, Spencer West, Queen Noor of Jordan, Katie Couric and many more! We left with the knowledge that we can change our world to be a more equitable place and felt inspired to make it happen!
At We Day we were told to, ‘embrace our opportunities, and explore our true passions and we will find our keys to success’. A second significant message brought to us was from Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield who told us that, “The most important thing you can change is yourself.”
In conclusion, it was a jam-packed day filled with exciting lessons and activities and loaded with inspiring stories and messages. The MACtion crew hopes that all MacLachlan students and teachers will start to SPEAK, THINK, and ACT like leaders, as we are the new generation! And we will own it!
