One of our grade four Innovation classes met “Dash”, the robot, for the very first time! He responds to voice commands, navigates objects, dances and sings – he’s a star! Students used their iPads to tell Dash to spin in a circle, flash lights, play sound effects and more. They are learning to use the picture-based coding language to create detailed behaviours for Dash. This connects to the coming Grade 4 unit of inquiry, “Location, Location, Location” and exploring the ways in which maps can be used for orientation and direction.
