Every Student is Unique

Chisholm Academy is more than a “traditional” senior elementary and secondary school, offering a full range of courses leading to post-secondary education; we provide rigorous academics, small classes, individualized programming, and extensive educational support. Our students, whether they struggle with learning disabilities or other impediments to learning that previously blocked their success in larger school environments, thrive in the Academy environment. As a Ministry of Education Inspected Private School, Chisholm Academy offers a wide range of approved courses.

Students who need academic upgrading and assistance or a small class environment, and those requiring strategies to overcome a learning disability, all find a place at Chisholm.

Students are offered a full complement of academic and applied level courses preparing them for university or college. However, our flexible schedule allows students the opportunity to customize their high school experience by taking individualized credits. On average, class sizes are less than 8 students, providing staff with a unique teaching environment and students with extra personalized attention.

Parental contact is actively encouraged and is a key component of success at Chisholm. Through constant communication, we work together to help our students achieve academic and personal success.

To further ensure success among our students, we provide three integrated services that work closely to maximize student learning and success: Chisholm Academy’s full-time program, Chisholm Academy’s remedial/tutoring services, and the affiliated Chisholm Assessment Centre. Working closely with the Psychology Department and with the teaching faculty, the professional staff at Chisholm Academy develop personalized educational plans based on individual needs and goals through the Chisholm Assessment Centre.

Chisholm teachers employ the latest in learning technology. Every classroom is equipped with a Smart Board; inter-connectivity between students and teachers is maintained through LinQ and Smart Synch technologies. All courses are now taught in a Google Classroom environment utilizing the latest apps and cloud technology.
