From July 17 to August 9, Senior One student Cole Ouellette participated in a Round Square International Service project in British Columbia. The team worked alongside the Soaring Spirits Rediscovery Camp to complete a steep trail, reaching altitudes of 4,600 feet in Kitwanga Mountain Provincial Park. Mid-project, the group visited Stewart, Alaska where they did some bear and wildlife watching and also took in the incredible views of Salmon Glacier. They then travelled to the North Pacific Cannery where they sanded and re-painted some of the buildings. The group spent the last few days in Kispiox, where they completed 18 benches, painting, installed a new roof at the Council Fire of Kispiox and finished a root cellar for winter storage. The trip ended with a canoe adventure in a 12-man traditional First Nations canoe.
