On October 1, Senior One and Two drama students, together with Senior One Arabic studies students, travelled to Brock University to see The Gaza Mono-logues, an internationally acclaimed performance that tells the stories of the children of Gaza. Appleby was honoured to be the only high school invited to see The Gaza Mono-logues and participate in an extended question and answer period with the Palestinian actors and Iman Auon, artistic director of Ashtar Theatre. The play will serve as inspiration for Senior One drama’s upcoming Collective Creation unit while Senior Two students will be collaborating with students from around the world to create a performance piece to tell their own stories. Senior One Arabic Studies students will be preparing a reflection about The Gaza Mono-Logues this week.
