Members of the Senior Two visual arts class traveled with faculty members David Thompson and Erin Cater ’98 to Appleby’s S. Bruce McLaughlin Northern Campus in Temagami to explore the Canadian landscape through drawing and painting. Despite the less than ideal weather, spirits were high and students learned about en plein air painting and drawing. Students also experienced a workshop with First Nation’s artist Hugh McKenzie who lives on nearby Bear Island. Students bonded together and enjoyed the opportunity to focus on their art in a beautiful natural environment.
