Our MAC Junior Ambassadors and select MAC Grade 7-8 students had the opportunity to join in a one-day training workshop run by the group “Playocracy”. The workshop centred around unique recess activities and play-based learning scenarios while giving students a chance to learn and acquire a variety of life-long skills in leadership, communication, team-building, and commitment.
This program lends itself to MAC’s strong sense of school community through play and does not focus solely on coordinating fun and cooperative physical activities at recess, but also helps the students learn to find a solution for the social and emotional interactions that occur on the playground and their subsequent continuation into the classroom.
