From August 9 to 17, a group of Appleby students embarked on a tour of California. Dubbed the Creative Innovation Tour, the trip extended from Anaheim to Los Angeles to San Francisco, and included stops at several high level post-secondary schools including Art Center and University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts, as well as a number of creative industry leaders such as Chiat/Day Advertising, Radical Media, Landor Design and Old Navy. A highlight of the trip was the opportunity to meet with Lauren Baldesarra ’05 who works as a Disney Imagineer. Lauren welcomed the group to the D23 Expo which is a showcase of all that Disney has planned for the next few years. A behind the scenes look that very few people get to experience. Faculty members Dave Thompson and Melissa Fernandes were impressed by the level of engagement and interest shown by the students.
